2009 Salmon Camp Research Teams

SCRT Spring Break - March 22-28, 2009

The 2009 spring break trip will be taking students to Oregon State University and the Oregon coast around Newport. We will start off by touring OSU and learning about the natural resources programs they have to offer. Then we will spend the next two days at the Oregon Hatchery Resource Center. While there we will be taking part in two different research projects. One dealing with trout eggs, and one dealing with tagging salmon fry. There will also be some macroinvertebrate study. On Wednesday we will leave the Hatchery research center and travel down to the Hatfield Science Center. A tour and an explanation of research projects will happen there. The next day will be spent exploring the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Yaquina Head. Friday we will spend with a member of the Siletz tribe, who will be taking us out to do some fish shocking, invertebrate work, and work with their lamprey projects. We will also be visiting their hatchery.
